Post meeting wrap-up

Dear Den 7 Community...

Den meeting put to rest...I hope the bagel/peanut butter bird feeders made it home with a minimum of mess.

I logged all of the information I have on the 'arrow point' electives...take a look at the back of the book for things you may have done as a family...the cub scouts may earn these through the rest of the spring. I'll record and submit as they are accomplished.

The blue and gold banquet...I saw that flyers were sent home through the school mail...that's pretty much what I know now...

The next pack meeting will feature a cake auction...I assume a flyer will come home shortly to describe that as well.

Happy Valentine's Day to all...

Ken

Meeting Update for Tuesday, February 14

Dear Wolf Den Community:

Reminder that our meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30—Davis School.

The topic continues: taking care of our planet. We will be a bit more concrete this week and construct bird feeders. Please expect those to arrive home and y’all can discuss an appropriate place to hang them.

Blue and Gold Banquet is coming up in a few weeks, per the note sent home with the Cub Scouts last week.

We will recognize the members of the den with their Wolf Badge at the pack meeting.

One of the advancement options for Wolf Cubs are the arrow points. These are located in the back of the wolf handbook. Many family activities are embedded in the arrow point requirements. If you would go through these this week and mark the ones that you have accomplished, I’ll pass that information on to the advancement coordinator for the pack. To make good use of meeting time, I’ll ask this time for you to leave the books with me for the week—then I can mark down the requirements that the cub scouts have met, and return the handbooks to you next week.

Long range:
24-28 July: Day Camp at Good Templar Park, Geneva. We will be able to attend as a den/pack. This is being organized at the pack level, so please set aside the date and look for more information.
May 13: Jamboree on the Trail. We will have a Saturday morning hike as a den—location to be announced.
___ April. Den Campout. I’ll be on the phone this week to arrange for a den campout. I’d like this to be a family activity. Minimum requirement is a cub scout/parent (or guardian). It will be a single night experience, so it will be a good start for those who are new to camping.
___ July. Cub Scout Resident Camp. I’ll be presenting a couple of options regarding Cub Scout Resident Camp for this summer. Locally, there is a camp available at Camp Big Timber; there is also an amazing Cub Scout Resident Camp sponsored by the Milwaukee County Council at their Scout Camp near Oconomowoc. I’ve visited that camp before as part of a BSA National Inspection Team, and can speak very highly of it. The facilities and program are really exceptional, and I’d like the den to consider making the trip north to take part in it. Either camp requires parent participation, so that will of course figure into the final calculation. I’ll have more to share on this in the next week or two.

Treats this week by…….?

Messages always available at http://pack108.blogspot.com/

Thanks, as always, for your support of the program.

Best,

Ken

Debn Meeting Note: No Meeting on February 7

Dear Den 7 Community:

I won't be able to host the meeting next week.

The school is being used by the PTO and so we have to find an alternative meeting place. My family and I will be out of town through Monday night, so I won't be able to organize a meeting.

I'm sorry that the notice is so late for many of you. I understand that there is a story telling function at the Arcada Theatre the same night--that might make for a fine alternative, if you're looking for something to do.

We will be back on schedule again starting next Tuesday, 14 February.

Have a good weekend...and I will see some of you at the Winterall tomorrow.

Best,

Ken
