Den Weekly Update

Den meeting will take place at the King’s house on Tuesday—the school is booked.

At this point…we have confirmed campers on 12-13 from Siarny, Rudnicki, Mickleson, Kampen, and King. I’ll put together an itinerary for the campout and share with those who will be able to make it. I don’t know about the Harshbargers yet.

Mrs. Kampen is supplying the treat this week—my thanks.

Tuesday, April 18, 6:30 PM: DEN MEETING at the King’s house. The school bumped the pack from its meeting that night, so we will have a den meeting instead.

19 May: Pack Crossover Night. This is the final Pack Meeting until September—Cub Scouts move from Wolf to Bear Den. Picnic/potluck—Pack will provide hot dogs, utensils, etc. Each den family will contribute a dish to pass. Wolf Den has been marked down for side dishes.

21 May, 1:00 – 4:00 PM: Pack Fun Day at Blackhawk (not Blackwell) Forest Preserve.

8 June: Pack planning meeting—if you’d like to contribute to planning activities for next year, please mark this date on your calendar.

13-16 July: Cub Scout Resident Camp, Oconomowoc, WI. You may still sign up through me—but the cost increased slightly. Highly recommended!

24-28 July: Cub Scout Day Camp, Good Templar Park, Geneva, IL. Early Bird Fee Deadline is 19 April ($70); you can still sign up after that date for $80 (fee goes up to $95 in June)

18 June: Pack Bike Hike

16 or 23 July: Swimming

20 August: Pack Fun Day at Pottawattamie Park

15-16 September: Pack Campout

Den Meeting, 4/11

Dear Den 7 Community:

Reminder…our next den meeting takes place tomorrow (Tuesday) night a 6:30 at Davis School. We will continue our compass and map investigations.

I’ll get something organized and sent by email later this week for the den campout at Blackwell forest preserve on 12-13 May.

Kenny, Kalin, and Marshall (and Marshall’s brother—soon to be a tiger cub) have signed up for Cub Scout Camp in WI this summer. The early bird fee has come and gone, but as you look at your summer plans, space is still available for camp on 13-16 July.

I think that spring has arrived!

Den meeting, 4/4 (revised location)

Dear Den 7 Community:

It's so hard to believe that spring break is coming to an end. I hope that everyone who made it to the activity day at Camp Big Timber had a great time, and for those of you on vacation, that your time was equally nice.

This week: we will meet at my house, due to the school being booked for a PTO meeting.

I have rocket kits for Clayton and Micky. The pack will launch these sometime in April, date TBA.

I will also have hard copies of upcoming events regarding camp and the like.

Chrissy is handling the day camp for the pack--camp fees need to be sent to her, or I can relay them to her in time for the pack leader meeting on Thursday.

For our den's summer camp in Wisconsin, I'll collect payment from each of you (make checks out to pack 108). I'll then have the pack cut a check for payment to the Milwaukee Scout Council.

Basic fees for camp in WI:
$90 per scout
$45 per adult. I am going, and Mr./Mrs. Rudnicki is going to attend....if any one of you would like to go, we need to have two leaders, and then one leader for every four (i.e., if eight cubs go, we are OK...if we make 9, we need one more adult to go).
$10 per tent. The tents come with cots and matresses, so it makes sense to me to make use of the materials they have on hand. I understand the cost is $10 per scout to use a tent, and not $10 per tent.

If you can bring checks with you when you drop off your son on Tuesday (or when you pick him up, I will process the payments this week when I see the pack leadership at the pack leader meeting.

If any of you are interested in seeing how the pack is run--and contributing to that for next year and beyond, please come on out.
