Den 7 Update: January 2 Den Meeting

Dear Den 7 Community:

Reminders...
  • Our next den meeting will take place Tuesday, January 2, and Davis School. We will meet as usual at 6:30 PM in the community room.
  • The pinewood derby will take place on Saturday, January 27. I have cars for the two cubs who did not attend the last pack meeting.

Updates...
We will meet two requirements for the Bear award during our den meetings this month. Each cub needs to tell about a character from American folklore on either the 9th or 16th of January....and each cub scout needs to teach the rest of the den a game. We will share those on either the 9th or 16th...so come prepared for either/both on those dates.

On the meeting on the 16th, please plan on leaving either the requirement sheet with me--or your son's bear book with me--so that I can record their progress on advancing toward their bear award. I'm anticipating that most of you are getting close to being done.

I will also have folks sign up to help at den meetings and bring treats for the spring. I will bring the treat this week.

My courses meet on Saturdays this spring, so some of the den activities/field trips I would like to have us take part in this spring will require your help to make it happen. I'll propose some dates and activities, and we can decide how best to make some of these adventures happen.

And, of course, happy new year to one and all.

Best regards,

Ken

December Update

Dear Den 7 Community:

A few updates/reminders for the rest of the month:

Jane Siarny is hosting our 19 December meeting--please reply to her requests below, so she can get us organized.

Next Tuesday is our pack meeting (12 December). Things to be aware of:
--Sign up (and $$) for Operation Cubsicle.
--Each of your sons was asked to research an astronomical object at the last den meeting...please help him look up the appropriate facts and figures. We will display what we learned at the pack meeting on Tuesday.

RE: my suggestion that we vist the adler planetarium on 12/18....
--I have to work (RU has a later semester than most colleges around here), so I can't get away for the day. If anyone else would like to head up a field trip on that day, please step forward...otherwise, we will have to take a pass on it. I'm sorry that work has to interfere sometimes....

Peter is retiring from cub scouts at the end of the year, as he has some other projects that are taking his time and interest. Please wish him well when you see him next.

Ken
