December Den Doings
Dear Den 7 Community:
The theme this month is "Cub Scout Stars." Our next regular den meeting will take place on Tuesday, December 5, at Davis School.
I'll share my list of meeting helpers and those who signed up to provide a treat. That is, when I get home I will. :-)
Looking ahead:
--Monday, 18 December. One of the activities this month is a field trip to a planetarium. Admission at Adler Planetarium is FREE on Mondays (shy shows have a charge, however). We would need a couple of drivers (parents) to support such an adventure. Let me know your interest at the next den meeting. Some details. http://www.adlerplanetarium.org/plan/groups.shtml#scouts
--Tuesday, 19 December. Part of the month's theme is service, and per Jane's invitation, we will meet during the day on December 19 at the Siarny's house. We will prepare meals for Lazarus House.
--Friday, 29 December: Operation Cubsicle. We took part in this last year, and had some fun with it. It is a day camp program--in the winter. It has a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities. Cost is $15 per scout, $7 per adult chaperone. As with the proposed Adler trip, we need adults to chaperone and provide transportation. Reservations are due on 12 December (Pack meeting night). Details here
Thanks to Ann Wahab for donating the cardboard that became the castle at the pack meeting last night.
Thanks also to Bryan Ferry for taking on the popcorn kernel job....he was in his garage with a laptop computer on more than one night this fall, organizing popcorn distribution for the whole pack.
Everyone should also (save for some folks who did not come into the pack meeting last night) the list of advancement requirements that we covered during our den meetings. For the bear award, the requirement is to complete 12/25 requirements...so see which ones are of interest to your son, and have fun with them over winter break. My goal is to have this completed by the Blue and Gold Banquet in February.
