August Pack Event (Last Call)

Dear Pack 108 Family Members:

This is the second reminder for our pack event on Sunday. To date, two families have shared their plans to attend. I will shop for the ice cream based on the number of participants (cub scouts and family members) I know of by 10:00 PM Friday night.

The flyer (with map to the forest preserve) is here.

Please note also that you can visit with Michele Fata on Monday the 18th at the Back to School event--she has information regarding the pack's program for this year.

Looking ahead: We will have an program orientation for parents on Tuesday, September 9, 7:30 PM in the Davis School community room.

Who:
Members of Cub Scout Pack 108, parents, and siblings

What:
Pack Activity

Where:
Duerr Forest Preserve, Shelter #2

When:
Sunday, August 17, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Why:
The outdoor program is at the heart of scouting!

What we will do:
We will take part in a scavenger hunt for interesting things located at Duerr Forest Preserve. We will celebrate our success with the scavenger hunt with ice cream sundaes.

How we will do it:
Please bring a pencil or pen to record what you find on the scavenger hunt, your Cub Scout uniform, and an outer garment appropriate for weather.

Please bring one of your favorite toppings for ice cream. The pack will provide ice cream, spoons, napkins, and bowls.

The Fox Valley Trolley museum runs from South Elgin to the forest preserve. You are welcome to pick up a ticket and take a ride before or after the pack event.

Note:
Areas off of the trail at Duerr Forest Preserve are pretty thick with Poison Ivy. Keeping on the trails/mowed areas makes good sense for all!

Confirmation:
Please let Cubmaster Ken King know if you will participate or not by Friday, August 15.
